Kidney Cancer Awareness
In memory of Jerry Bunn, founder of Jerry T. Bunn Trucking, JTB & BHI wants to help raise awareness about cancer and help our local community. Jerry Bunn was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2007. Jerry Bunn was a fighter, he never asked "Why me?", he fought until his last day. With a smile on his face he always told his family "No More Tears".
What is Kidney Cancer?
"Kidney cancer -- also called renal cancer -- is a disease in which kidney cells become malignant (cancerous) and grow out of control, forming a tumor. Almost all kidney cancers first appear in the lining of tiny tubes (tubules) in the kidney. This type of kidney cancer is called renal cell carcinoma. The good news is that most of kidney cancers are found before they spread (metastasize) to distant organs. And cancers caught early are easier to treat successfully. However, these tumors can grow to be quite large before they are detected." via http://www.webmd.com/cancer/understanding-kidney-cancer#0
Cancer in general just sucks!
What can you do to help?
Jerry T. Bunn Trucking, LLC & Bunn Hauling, Inc. are teaming up with Southeastern Cancer Care to help raise money for current cancer patients. "Southeastern Cancer Care (SCC) is a non-profit (501-c-3) tax exempt corporation established by Southeastern Medical Oncology Center (SMOC) to assist cancer patients who live specifically in Eastern North Carolina. The money raised is used to help patients who are currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or have had surgery for their cancer within the last 3 months. These funds are raised to help Eastern NC Cancer patients with food, gas, utilities, medical expenses, and other needs."
